The 2018 Lone Ranger Parade

On Saturday, Aug. 4, I attended the 2018 Lone Ranger Parade in downtown Oxford, MI. The parade is a celebration of Oxford’s historical connection to the Lone Ranger character. Radio actor Brace Beemer, who lived on a ranch in Oxford, was known for his portrayal of the Lone Ranger with the Detroit radio show. Beemer became the full-time voice of the Lone Ranger in 1941 when the previous actor (Earle Graser) was killed in a car accident. He was the voice of the Lone Ranger until the show ended in September 1954. For me, the highlight of the event was meeting The Lone Ranger.
